Description
Quadrature Encoder (Hall Effect Sensor)
Item No. : KR08085
1. Introduction
The simple encoder kit consist of two neodymium 8-pole magnets with rubber hubs and two (2) hall-effect sensors terminated with 150mm (6″) cable and 4 pin female servo headers (Supply Voltage 3V – 24V include reverse polarity protection, Signal A, Signal B, GND). When fitted with an external pullup resistor will drive any logic circuit from 3V – 24V and can also drive a LED or any other small load less than 25mA.
The magnets have 4 noth poles and 4 south poles and are strong enough that the sensor can detect the poles from more than 3mm (1/8″). This means that sensors don’t need to be precisely mounted to detect the poles.
These sensors can plug directly into any Arduino compatible/ processors internal pullup resistoers (without any additional component).
